Generación Basura is a band from Seville, South Spain, playing hardcore punk in the vein of classic 80s iberic punk-hardcore such as RIP or IV Reich. Lyrics in Spanish talk about the miseries of everyday life in one of the more traditional and conservative cities of the peninsula, where any form of expression that steps out of the institutional or religious related culture, so deeply rooted in every aspect of the life of this city, is marginalized and ridiculed. Basically, four punks in a region where boredom and unemployment are commonplaces in the life of young people, trying not to sink in this depressive context through a DIY punk band which grew along with the collective Andalucía Über Alles, a DIY project intended to revitalize a quite shallow punk scene through putting up gigs in the city, functioning as distro and label, releasing mostly bands from this isolated region, and trying to create bonds with any other collectives or people that we feel close to our way of doing things.
